Job Description Summary

We are recruiting for a Material Supply Leader to join our Material Fulfilment Leadership team in Cheltenham. This is a people leadership role that will manage direct reports responsible for delivery execution across a portfolio of suppliers and for driving material health into our internal value streams. Our team is accountable for on‑time delivery performance through proactive orderbook management, supplier development, and stakeholder engagement across about 150 active suppliers spanning several value streams. The role is critical to operational performance at our Cheltenham site and will be a senior escalation point for supplier delivery risks, requiring strong leadership, coaching, and effective communication. Experience leading complex supplier recovery projects across a range of commodities is essential. The role works cross‑functionally with key stakeholders, including the wider sourcing team, to mitigate shortages and part availability risks in production cells.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Direct people leadership of a team of material fulfilment professionals

  • Own ‘Material Health’, ensuring product availability and inventory inputs

  • Full understanding and monitoring of ‘Buy Part Coverage’ and ‘Orderbook Alignment’

  • Develop and communicate supplier performance and delivery commitments that support business requirements, working cross‑functionally within the organisation to solve problems

  • Lead others to find creative solutions to complex problems that may impact the organisation

  • Evaluate quality of information received and question conflicting data for analysis

  • Use multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to arrive at a decision

  • Establish risk mitigation plans and drive accountability through effective action planning

  • Ensure involvement, awareness and contribution to sourcing initiatives and strategy

  • Own daily team meetings and provide latest operational updates

  • Attend site escalation and customer reviews

  • Demonstrate ability to work cross‑functionally, influence others and lead small teams

  • Work with Supplier Development and Commercial Sourcing teams to build on strategic suppliers

  • Require both UK and global travel


Required Qualifications and Experience


  • Significant experience in Sourcing & Supply Chain Management

  • Proven ability in leading and engaging teams

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally, influence others and lead small teams

  • Degree qualified


Desired experience and skills


  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP

  • Lean/Continuous training and implementation experience

  • Previous people management experience

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple competing priorities

  • Project management skills
