As a Material Controller, responsible for managing and overseeing the inventory of goods and assets for NG, reporting to the Logistics Manager and as a linchpin in the Logistics Team, you’ll have the chance to contribute to making a significant impact on the efficient flow of materials in and out of the business and work on mission‑critical initiatives. You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the visibility and integrity of NG’s stock profile, safeguarding the business’ ability to deliver on our commitments.

As well as developing and supporting UK wide and internationally deployed multi‑domain command and control systems, our work is critical to the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with various departments (e.g., Production Control, Supply Chain and Mission Assurance) to ensure the availability of materials and equipment.
  • Work closely with Production Control, Supply Chain, Logistics and the warehouse team to monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods and forecast future inventory needs to support production schedules and prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Analyse inventory data and trends to identify areas for improvement and optimise inventory control and warehousing processes for efficiency.
  • Work closely with the project team to resolve any materials issues including with the supply chain, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Ensure that processes are aligned with NG policies, procedures, governance and values.

We are looking for
  • Proven experience in stock control, inventory and warehouse management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in inventory management software, SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience of working within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
