Overview

Master Scheduler and Planner

The Master Scheduler and Planner will be responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of the production schedule to ensure efficient manufacturing operations, optimal resource utilization, and timely order fulfilment. This key role collaborates closely with production, procurement, sales, and logistics teams, balancing customer demand with manufacturing capacity while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on forecasts, customer orders, and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinate with operations, procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate unforeseen delays, equipment breakdowns, or supply shortages.
  • Analyse capacity and resource constraints; propose solutions to optimise throughput and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Leaders and department leads to communicate schedule requirements and resolve conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling data in ERP/MRP systems and generate reports as required for management review.
  • Lead and participate in regular scheduling meetings to review performance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and best practices relating to planning and scheduling.
  • Monitor scheduling efficiency and effectiveness against performance criteria and departmental KPI’s and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of and accuracy of regular stock and WIP taking activities
Qualifications

Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field (or equivalent experience) desirable.
  • APICS/CPIM certification desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant scheduling or planning experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials planning, and capacity management.
  • Experience of Power Platforms i.e. PowerApps, BI etc.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with scheduling software preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
