Job description

Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Master Planner, for a client located in Darlaston. Reporting into the Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing production plans to achieve customer demands.

Recommending and executing production plans for assigned materials. Determining forecasts and production plans based on production capabilities, lead times and inventory turn goals. Maintaining material master data for assigned materials. Monitoring and resolving production requirement related issues. Resolving production backorders with Ops team. Updating and communicating backorder status and plan for resolution.

Effectively communicating with internal departments including Production, Despatch, Engineering, Quality & Manufacturing Systems.

This role is for a minimum period of 3 months / max 6 months.

Master Planner Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all planning activities relating to assigned manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible to establish inventory levels that are in line with the plant goals.
  • Responsible for new SAP part creation and maintenance.
  • Responsible for reviewing MRP output, developing production requirements, launching works orders and ensuring accuracy.
  • Responsible for developing actions necessary to improve on inventory accuracy and capacity utilization.
  • Responsible for supporting all engineering changes with necessary personnel and assigned production processes in a manner that is aimed at minimizing obsolescence and protecting customer requirements.
  • Develop and monitor production schedules to determine the sequence and lead time of each operation and monitor the adherence to defined targets.
  • Prepare production reports and guarantee that all parties are fully acquainted with production status.
  • Develop and implement solutions in case of variance from production plan.
  • Analyze and evaluate production specifications and plant capacity data.
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering department with mathematical calculations concerning manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Host Weekly Planning meeting.
  • Develop emergency plans for assembly delays, downturns or other critical conditions and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Communication with production of shipping data.
  • Ownership for compliance to Customer Delivery Schedules.
  • Support New Product Introduction activities.
  • Analysis and improvement of customer delivery performance.
  • Cover Customer Liaison and Packaging when required.
  • Present required information at daily meetings.
  • Prepare relevant graphs / reports for daily meetings.
Master Planner Applicants
