Master Diagnostic Technician

Ilford

Up to £55,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

Monday - Friday (8:30am-6pm) Rota'd Saturdays 9am-4pm • Full time/Permanent job

About the Company

Our client is an independent service and repair garage based in Ilford, dedicated to providing high-quality vehicle servicing and repairs across all makes and models. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.

Role Overview

They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Master Diagnostic Technician to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about cars, has a high level of Master/Senior/Diagnostic Technician experience, and is looking to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair highly complex issues in electronic systems, engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
  • Mentor junior technicians, guide workshops, and solve problems that other mechanics can't.
  • Interpret fault codes, live data, wiring diagrams, and test results to identify root causes.
  • Perform complex repairs, including software updates, ECU diagnostics, and potentially welding.
  • Maintaining thorough and up-to-date product knowledge.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards and orderly administration of all your work.
  • Communicating with the Service Reception team.
  • Maintaining exceptionally high customer service levels that lead to customer loyalty and referrals.
Background & Skill
  • Numerous years experience as a Master/Senior/Diagnostic Car Technician or similar level role.
  • Master/Diagnostic Technician qualifications are preferred but not a must.
  • Having your own tools is a must.
  • A driving licence is very much preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
