This is a critical leadership role within the Asda Mobile and Asda Money Marketing team, responsible for embedding strategic clarity, operational discipline, and performance excellence across all marketing activity. The successful candidate will be a strategic planner, ensuring that marketing is aligned to business priorities, customer needs, annual budgeting and commercial goals. They will bring structure, foresight, and accountability to the marketing function, driving a culture of proactive planning, data led decision-making, and continuous improvement, Strategic Planning & Governance

Budget & Demand Planning
  • Own the annual marketing budget process, ensuring effective allocation and ROI tracking.
  • Financial modelling to optimise marketing spend across channels and products, enabling data-driven budget allocation and maximising return on investment.
  • Oversee bulk media buying and budget phasing to support campaign execution.
Performance reporting & Insights
  • Lead the performance reporting management framework for marketing. Managing a Performance Analyst to deliver self-serve marketing dashboards that support the wider marketing teams to make effective decisions for all marketing activity. Ensuring that KPIs are defined, tracked, and reported - with learnings fed back into future planning cycles.
  • Own the insight plan, working with internal teams to ensure marketing is customer-led and responsive to market trends.
Team Leadership
  • Manage and develop the Planning Manager and Performance Manager, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team.

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
