The role involves creating engaging content, coordinating campaigns, and analyzing performance. Candidates should have experience in digital marketing campaigns, excellent copywriting skills, and be comfortable with data analysis using Excel. Join a collaborative team focused on attracting top students and enjoy a great work environment.
As a Marketing Officer (Digital), you will play a key role in delivering digital marketing activity that supports the University of Sussex’s undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment objectives. Working as part of the central Marketing Team within Communications, Engagement and Advancement, you will help plan, deliver and evaluate evidence‑led digital campaigns across paid, owned and shared channels.
You will be involved in creating and adapting digital content, coordinating campaign delivery with colleagues and external agencies, and monitoring performance to ensure activity is effective, on brand and delivers value for money. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys combining creativity with data, and who takes pride in producing high‑quality digital outputs.
You will work closely with Marketing Managers, CRM, digital analytics, web and social media colleagues, as well as academic Schools and recruitment teams, contributing to a collaborative and supportive working environment.

You will be organised, detail‑focused and comfortable managing multiple tasks at the same time. You will have the ability to work with campaign data, using tools such as Excel, analytics platforms or third‑party reports to help evaluate performance and identify improvements.
You will also bring basic editing and design skills, such as resizing images or creating simple digital assets using standard design tools, and an understanding of brand and visual identity. Experience of working in a higher education or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
