Are you an educational marketing expert looking for impact? Do you have proven marketing experience in the education sector and want to shape how a respected independent school is perceived and positioned in an increasingly competitive landscape?

Overview

Our confidential client, an award-winning independent school in Oxford serving 11-18 year-olds across multiple campuses and boarding houses, is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to lead their marketing and communications strategy. You will report directly to the Director of Admissions and own responsibility for developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns to attract both domestic and students across 4 teaching sites and 6 boarding houses.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications plans aligned with recruitment targets.
  • Plan and execute integrated marketing activities including recruitment events, digital campaigns, social media, PR, email, and print initiatives for UK and international audiences.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget with rigorous forecasting, KPI tracking, and ROI reporting to senior leadership.
  • Own and optimise the school’s website, maintaining brand integrity and consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Line manage the Marketing and Communications Executive and deliver high-quality support across the organisation.
  • Work closely with the Admissions Team, Global Recruitment Team, Alumni community, external agencies, and Nord Anglia group marketing partners to amplify messaging and extend reach.
  • Create engaging content about school life across multiple channels and conduct market research to inform strategic planning and competitive positioning.
Requirements
  • Marketing experience gained in an educational setting (independent schools, universities, further education, or comparable institutions).
  • Proven ability to develop marketing strategies, plans, and content plans with success in campaign management and integrated initiatives.
  • Strong digital marketing proficiency across analytics, social media management, paid advertising, email marketing, WordPress, Google Analytics, SEO, and video editing.
  • Technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, copywriting, design, and the ability to create compelling visual and written content.
  • Excellent management and stakeholder engagement skills, able to motivate teams and collaborate across departments and external partners.
  • Outstanding organisational and project management skills with flexibility and resilience in a fast-moving, target-driven environment.
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and grammar, with strong events management skills for both physical and online events.
Additional Skills

Strategic marketing expertise, digital proficiency, leadership & management, operational excellence, and communications are all highly valued. Experience with Mailchimp and video editing is an advantage.
