A growing online training provider based in the UK seeks a Part-Time Marketing Lead to enhance their marketing efforts. The role focuses on managing Google Ads, email marketing, and social campaigns, aimed at driving student engagement and conversions. Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years of Google Ads experience and a solid understanding of email marketing and analytics.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Setup, optimise, and manage Google Ads campaigns (Meta desirable).
  • Develop and send monthly newsletters and automated email flows.
  • Coordinate light-touch social campaign support.
  • Report key metrics: CPS, ROAS, CTRs, email engagement, trial conversion.
  • Monitor and enhance SEO and GEO strategies.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to align marketing with product launches.

Overview

Eden Scott is delighted to be working with Ardent Training, a fast-growing, RYA-accredited online training provider for recreational and professional sailors. Since 2021, they’ve delivered expert-led video content, real-time instructor support, and interactive learning to over 5,000 students worldwide.

As they scale up, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as a Part-Time Marketing Lead.

Location & Terms

Location: Remote home based (Scotland preferred but not essential)

Contract: 6-month fixed-term (with potential to extend)

Hours: Approx. 2 days/week (15–16 hours/week) (with potential to extend)

Salary: £30,000–£35,000 FTE (£12,000–£14,000 pro rata)

Purpose

They are now investing in marketing to take the next step in their growth journey, and that’s where you come in.

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Lead the setup and ongoing optimisation of their paid advertising campaigns (Predominantly Google and Meta).
  • Build and manage a foundational email marketing programme that drives conversions, retention, and engagement.
  • Support key campaign activity across their social channels to enhance visibility and student acquisition.
Six-Month Objectives

This is a performance-driven role, expected to generate a measurable return — especially in reducing cost-per-sale and improving free-trial-to-purchase conversion. Within six months, you will:

  • Reduce their Google Ads CPS by set measurables — through better targeting, budget use, and campaign structure.
  • Launch three email marketing campaigns — covering onboarding, retention, and reactivation.
  • Improve free-trial-to-sale conversion rate by set measurables.
  • Provide monthly performance reporting across paid, email, and organic campaign activity.

  • Collaborate with the wider team to align marketing with product launches and live events.
Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 2–3 years’ experience managing Google Ads (search and display).
  • Strong knowledge of email marketing platforms and campaign setup.
  • Able to interpret and act on marketing analytics (GA4, ad dashboards, etc).
  • Self-sufficient and proactive — comfortable working part-time remotely.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager.
  • Interest in sailing, edtech, or e-learning.
  • Experience with marketing automation or CRM (e.g., HubSpot, SendGrid).
  • Knowledge of SEO, content marketing and generative engine optimisation.
