A leading marine applications firm in Glasgow is seeking a Marine Applications Support Specialist to enhance its Aurora software suite. You will support development, conduct training, and ensure high-quality user experiences. The ideal candidate has experience in fleet management systems and a technical mindset. Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in populating, supporting and maintaining fleet management systems.
  • Understanding and application of Operational and Development Project Lifecycle inclusive of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience in the role of Product Owner and/or Manual Development Tester.

Are you experienced in fleet management systems, digital asset management, or marine/offshore operations? Do you have a technical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach? We are looking for a Marine Applications Support Specialist to join our team and drive the ongoing development, support, and enhancement of our Aurora software suite.

This role blends product support, development lifecycle involvement, and client interaction, giving you the opportunity to influence software development while ensuring end-users get a seamless, high-quality experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Populate, maintain, and enhance the Aurora software suite and associated systems
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and customers, maintaining up-to-date training materials
  • Support development projects, acting as Product Owner when required, including backlog management, process mapping, requirements gathering, and storyboarding
  • Conduct manual function and regression testing, creating test plans to ensure robust systems
  • Maintain product documentation, release notes, and knowledge bases
  • Analyse, manipulate, and report on operational and asset data, including creating Power BI reports
  • Maintain awareness of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Support ongoing improvements, R&D, and process optimisation initiatives
You will have:
  • HND or Degree level or equivalent naval experience
  • Demonstrable experience in populating, supporting and maintaining fleet management systems.
  • Adaptable customer support skills with an ability to discuss technical issues depending on level of understanding.
  • Understanding and application of Operational and Development Project Lifecycle inclusive of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience in the role of Product Owner and/or Manual Development Tester.
  • Demonstrable experience in marine operations or an offshore environment.
  • Understanding and experience regards Business Process and Mapping methodologies.
  • Above average competency with Office 365 and Adobe packages.
  • Good written and oral communication.
