Job description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Operative to work for a successful machinery manufacturing company in Barnsley.

Working hours will be 07.30 - 16.30 Monday – Thursday & Friday 07:30 – 13.30 (with regular structured overtime). Min salary of £28,152.00 per annum plus structured overtime paid at x1.5 or x2 hour rate.

This Manufacturing Operative role requires a dynamic team player with proven experience, skills and knowledge in operating manual machining.

The role requires operating to high quality workmanship standards within a world class manufacturing team and facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

Required to work within a dedicated team responsible for the operation of machinery use in the manufacture of steel components. This will include manual reaming of finished products, operating a radial arm drill, pre-cleaning and post-cleaning of products and assembly of painted chassis.

Support to the fabrication/welding team as required.

Experience Required
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of using jigs and assembly fixtures to manufacture high quality repetitive components.
  • Experience of using gauges and measuring equipment for inspection purposes.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) grade 4 or above
