Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Location: Middlesbrough
Term: Permanent
Salary: £57,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Overview

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager on a permanent basis in the Middlesbrough area to work on cutting‑edge technology, make an impact in growing industries, and lead the team in a collaborative working environment.

Key Attributes
  • Relevant technical/manufacturing qualification or equivalent work‑based experience
  • Ability to understand engineering instructions, processes, and drawings
  • Knowledge of AS9100 would be beneficial but not essential
  • Proactive approach to customers & suppliers & areas to improve efficiency
  • Ability to lead technical meetings and discussions with customers
  • Thrive under pressure & have the will to succeed
  • Continuous improvement, zero defect and customer focused mindset
  • Ability to develop successful working relationships, working on own initiative or as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Develop processes to a production steady‑state standard that meets specification and design intent
  • Specify material requirements, define suitable methods of manufacture, and identify & implement tooling and equipment
  • Continually develop & increase knowledge of manufacturing technology developments, including manufacturing techniques to support drive & innovation
  • Act as technical support for manufacturing engineering matters ensuring activity is carried out to company procedures overriding customer requirements, ensuring project conformity to AS9100 requirements
  • Support design & customer reviews and other meetings as required
  • Support the transfer of new processes or new products (NPI) from Development to Manufacture
  • Create manufacturing information sheets, routings, BOMs using CAD and PLM data management tools
  • Check & approve manufacturing information sheets, change notes and other documents as per engineering procedures
