Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer - Contract (Outside IR35)

📍 Derby - 100% Onsite

📅 12-Month Rolling Contract

💷 Circa £35 per hour (Outside IR35)

We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer to support a customer site based in Derby. This is a 12-month rolling contract, Outside IR35, requiring full-time onsite presence.

This role sits within the Manufacturing & Supply Chain function and focuses on ensuring product designs are manufacturable, while developing and supporting effective supply chains and manufacturing processes for turbomachinery-based products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by providing manufacturing input into design, tolerancing, geometry, supplier selection, and cost
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes from early development through to production
  • Lead technical sourcing activities and assess supplier capability and capacity
  • Support supply chain and capability development as production volumes increase
  • Ensure APQP principles are applied throughout the product lifecycle
  • Provide production support, including manufacturing issue resolution and root cause analysis
  • Ensure delivery of conforming parts with appropriate quality and conformance documentation
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations
Required Experience
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience working with turbomachinery, including manufacture and/or assembly
  • Exposure to components such as rotors, casings, aerofoils, fabrications, or assembly & test
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple workstreams
  • Comfortable working flexibly across tasks, sometimes outside a traditional ME remit
