Overview
The Theatrical Distribution EMEA regional team is a visible group that works closely with senior executives across Paramount Pictures International, and territory level. The group is responsible for the Theatrical release and strategy of Paramount films across Europe Middle East and Africa. Working with other business units within Paramount on a wide range of critical initiatives, covering areas such as strategy, release planning, analytics, business development, business relations, systems & data, technical operations, and marketing.
The Manager of EMEA theatrical will play a meaningful role in supporting theatrical releases across EMEA. Projects will include analysis, dating, research, and recommendations related to PPI, release planning, and business development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Distribution and exhibitor relations (including understanding contractual agreements), marketing spend review, strategic release date planning and box office reporting.
- Providing business intelligence through data gathering and regularly assessing and reviewing Territory, GBO performance, BO and revenue estimates, retention rates for films in release, providing insights and feedback to improve future strategies and address local challenges.
- Prepares in depth analysis to evaluate distribution opportunities and partnerships that align with strategic goals of the EMEA region.
- Preparation sales and distribution reports related to release dates, box office performance, and audience reactions.
- Coordinate with LA Distribution and Marketing finance teams to manage budgets, optimise spending, and forecast Box office revenue for the region.
- Works effectively with various studio departments (LA Film Operations and LA Marketing) to support queries and requests from EMEA markets to launch films.
- Ensure timely submissions for territory tasks and prepare consolidated reports for the EMEA region for management review.
- Stays updated on international film industry trends, market performance, emerging markets, and regulatory requirements to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- Collates EMEA market analysis, statistics and trends in box office, admissions, ticket prices trends, and formats for presentations to guide strategy and decision-making.
- Conduct research projects, ad hoc box office analyses, and other review tasks, gathering insights and preparing presentations and reports for management as needed.
- Be available during opening weekends and peak release periods.
- Occasionally manage European conferences in London, including budgeting, planning, and event logistics.
Qualifications
The role requires superior analytical, strategic, and relationship skills. The individual must interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior executives to business unit managers and 3rd parties.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise very large sets of data into cohesive takeaways.
- High proficiency with analytical tool suites, specifically Microsoft Excel, Salesforce and PowerPoint, with competency in data visualisation tools (. PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau). Will require to be detail oriented.
- First class written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver high quality presentations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Role requires a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Proactive, hands‑on problem solver, flexible, adaptable and resourceful and organised.
- A thorough understanding of film and/or media market business models.
