About the role

Management Cost Accountant | Full Time | 23 Month Fixed Term Contract | Salary - From £37,360 to £46,700
Location - Durham/Homeworking

This role is known internally as Assistant Finance Business Partner.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Finance Business Partnering Team. You will work closely with specific business areas to create a real and active partnership between operations and management, through the provision of month end accounts, reporting, and insightful analysis. This includes annual budgeting, reflecting strategic plans and monthly forecasting.

This role will see you build trusted relationships with our business leaders, partnering with them to manage the day-to-day financial decisions through ongoing support. This includes analysing financial data to provide information to enable effective decision making.

In addition, you will lead month-end accounting processes, undertaking financial performing reviews. This includes providing variance analysis and making recommendations for improvement.

You will provide financial planning and scenario analysis to support strategic decision making. In addition, you will support the business in preparation of business cases, assessing the financial feasibility, monitor and report performance of the change including undertaking post implementation reviews.

As part of this role you will evaluate financial risks which includes developing strategies to mitigate issues. This also includes financial analysis and modelling.

Innovation is at the heart of everything we do as a business which means you will identify improvements and cost saving opportunities. This includes making improvements to maintain our regular financial reporting and dashboards which monitors business performance.

About you

We\'re looking for you to have proven experience of working in a fast paced, complex financial organisation delivering on time accurate results and analysis, along with proven experience in the preparation of business cases and management accounts.

We\'re looking for you to be a qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or nearly qualified / qualified by relevant experience.

You\'ll have proven experience of achieving deadlines by working in partnership with others, so experience of senior stakeholder engagement and change management is a must.

We\'re looking for you to have proven skills to operate confidently in a financial environment, analysing and interpreting financial information to resolve problems, deliver outputs and communicate information for decision-making. You\'ll also be able to provide effective, accurate information to enable decision making and risk assessments.

You\'ll be able to provide insightful customer focused reporting through using finance and non-finance information, along with proven experience in presenting and translating finance data to non-financial managers. Excellent communication, data interpretation and engagement skills are required.
