Job description

Location: Elephant & Castle (Hybrid, minimum 3 days in the office)

Start: As soon as possible / no later than 1 October 2025

Salary: Up to £45,000 (depending on experience)

Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract, reporting directly to the Head of Finance

Now, we’re looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team and keep our numbers as strong as our members.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and issue sales invoices, review accounts receivable, and proactively follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely cash collection
  • Full ownership of the direct debit process
  • Manage the P&L and balance sheet to produce accurate monthly management accounts
  • Prepare and post period-end journals such as accruals & prepayments
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Support clubs with financial queries
  • Support the year-end audit process by preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules, liaising directly with external auditors to address queries
  • Participate in ad hoc financial projects, supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function

Qualifications & experience

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA) with experience outside of practice in a multi-site company
  • Proactive and hands-on achiever with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with NetSuite is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. vlookup, sumif)
  • Interest in the health & fitness / leisure & hospitality industry is a plus
