About the Role

Northland Controls is seeking a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Letchworth. This is a key role supporting both the Finance function and the wider business, with responsibility across core accounting activities, financial reporting, audits, and international transactions.

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries, financial analyses, and account reconciliations.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and records.
  • Meet all processing, reporting, and regulatory deadlines.
  • Respond to information requests and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Ensure accurate internal and external reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and liaise with external parties including auditors, accountants, banks, vendors, tax authorities, and insurance providers.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and optimise financial results.
  • Work closely with international finance teams on global initiatives and cross-border transactions.
  • Manage cash and banking activities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance team and wider business as required.
What We're Looking For
Essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (5+ years total accounting experience preferred).

Reporting Structure

This role does not have direct reports but works closely with colleagues and provides financial insights to management.
