Overview

Based in Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes, with the flexibility of hybrid working depending on business need. Free shuttle bus available between central Milton Keynes and Hanslope Park.

Our Finance team takes pride in understanding the value of financial management of these projects and ensuring compliance with the National Audit Office to help deliver year-end accounts to Parliament.

Responsibilities
  • Solve financial problems and offer vital support to our global organisation.
  • Act as an enthusiastic and thoughtful problem solver to help ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations; be prepared to work on a large number of complex and varied projects.
  • Be involved with efficiency challenges, detailed project deep dive analysis, and the quarterly financial forecasting cycle.
  • Develop and deliver the full suite of monthly MI reports to support business decision making.
  • Review our compliance controls to ensure they’re fully exercised on a monthly basis; ensure labour costs are accurately reported and recovered across our functions; review and revise charging processes as needs change.
  • Support the development of Opex and Capex proposals; lead on financial tracking to ensure benefits are realised; coordinate the development of our corporate business plans.
  • Use accounting skills to support the organisation’s mission while working in a role that helps keep the country secure.
Qualifications
  • As a Management Accountant with experience in a project accounting environment, you’ll possess customer and supplier relationship management skills, and the ability to analyse, interrogate and evaluate data.
  • Familiar with accounting systems, financial planning, forecasting and reporting; practical knowledge of specialist systems and databases such as ERP, Oracle.
  • Capable of delivering at pace in a collaborative, fast-moving environment with superb communication and influencing skills; familiar with the principles and governance of managing public money.
  • Experience of working in public sector finance; well developed understanding of Oracle Fusion/Cloud.
  • Security clearance: All employees must be security cleared before joining; this role would require Security Check (SC) clearance.
