A growing group of companies with operations in the UK and US is seeking a Management Accountant to support both day-to-day finance operations and higher-level analytical tasks. This role sits between the Group Head of Finance and the Accounts Executive, covering three entities across two countries. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a passion for numbers, and the ability to balance operational responsibilities with strategic financial analysis. The role offers exposure to international operations and a clear pathway to a Finance Manager position as the group continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities as a Management Accountant

• Oversee transactional processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, and bank reconciliations.
• Perform and review month-end close activities such as accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records across all entities.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and maintain robust financial controls.
• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Support advanced financial analysis including profitability, investment cases, and cash flow planning.
• Collaborate with operational teams to gather data and explain financial results.

Key Attributes required for the Management Accountant opportunity

• AAT qualified and actively studying ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
• Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, report building).
• Comfortable switching between operational and strategic responsibilities.
