Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join a technical services team supporting a critical, business-essential environment in London. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical or multi-skilled technician who thrives in high-pressure, operationally critical settings.

You will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations. The role operates within a critical and technical services environment, where attention to detail, communication, and reliability are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an Authorised Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding
  • Complete day-to-day reactive and planned maintenance tasks within required timeframes
  • Maintain accurate records of completed and outstanding works using internal systems
  • Ensure all staff and contractors comply with safety, security, and site procedures
  • Participate in critical services and technical training programmes
  • Communicate effectively with clients, management, and wider engineering teams
  • Support team members by sharing technical expertise and covering holidays, sickness, and training
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on critical systems and provide condition assessments
  • Identify, log, and report incidents or out-of-line situations
  • Follow defined procedures to resolve technical issues under guidance
  • Deliver work in line with established processes and performance standards
Skills & Experience
Essential:
  • Strong technical and fault-finding skills
  • City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering (or HNC equivalent)
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with procedure writing
Desirable:
  • Completed electrical or mechanical apprenticeship (or equivalent)
  • Report writing experience
Technical Knowledge
Essential:
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical building services
  • Ability to operate and interrogate BMS systems
  • Knowledge of business-critical systems such as UPS, generators, and comms rooms
Desirable:
  • 18th Edition IEE Regulations
  • HV training
