Overview

Chelmsford Theatre is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Maintenance Technician to help keep our well-loved venue running smoothly. If you’ve got a knack for problem-solving, a commitment to supporting public experiences, and a practical mindset, this is your chance to make a real impact in a vibrant, creative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support the smooth running of the Theatre by performing practical maintenance and setup tasks
  • Set up event spaces and handle deliveries
  • Replace marketing materials across Chelmsford
  • Assist with cellar tasks
  • Carry out basic building maintenance and repairs, liaise with contractors, and help manage building systems to ensure efficient operations
Qualifications and skills
  • Experience in carpentry, metalwork, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance
  • Safe use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifting equipment
  • Knowledge of building systems and their maintenance
  • Experience working with the public and confidence using Microsoft 365 software to support daily tasks
  • Safety-conscious with solid understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to public venues
