A leading maintenance service provider is seeking a Maintenance Team Member with strong Electrical and Mechanical skills to join their Liverpool Train Care Depot on an ongoing contract. Ideal candidates will have a Level 3 qualification and experience in rolling stock or related fields. The role involves servicing and repairing rolling stock, resolving faults, and ensuring high standards of safety. Shift work is required, and a drug and alcohol policy applies.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Rolling Stock, Aerospace, Military Engineering, or large-scale transport sectors.

Maintenance Team Member - (Electrical or Mechanical)

Location: Liverpool, L15

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Ongoing Contract

Rullion are looking for a talented Maintenance Team Member with strong Electrical and Mechanical skills to join a long‑term contract at Liverpool Train Care Depot. This is a fantastic chance to grow your career in rolling stock maintenance, while working with a friendly, supportive, and highly skilled team.

Shift pattern

3-Shift (Days & Nights)

Pay rates (3-Shift):

  • First 12 weeks: PAYE £24.20 p/h / Umbrella £30.89 p/h
  • After 12 weeks: PAYE £27.47 p/h / Umbrella £37.00 p/h

IR35 status: Inside IR35 (PAYE & Umbrella only)

Equipment: PPE provided by Rullion, tooling provided by client

Your role: Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be a senior member of the team, responsible for:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing high‑profile rolling stock fleets
  • Fault finding, diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
  • Supporting continuous improvements in quality and performance
About You
  • A recognised ONC/NVQ Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification is essential
  • Experience in Rolling Stock, Aerospace, Military Engineering, Automotive, or other large‑scale transport sectors
  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical fault‑finding skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts (including nights and weekends if required)
  • Reside in the North‑West region (due to travel time and fatigue considerations)
