Overview

Position: Shift Maintenance Plumber. Sector: HVAC, Facilities and Building Services. Type: Permanent. Salary: £35,000 - £41,000 (depending on shift chosen). Hours: x2 positions available – 4 on, 4 off days OR 4 on, 4 off nights. Location: Chester.

We are recruiting for Plumber / Mechanical maintenance engineers to cover PPM and reactive maintenance on a secure facility in the West Cheshire area. The maintenance engineers will be responsible for general repairs and upkeep to the water, pressure and mechanical plant room plus compliance checks and general fabric upkeep. These are permanent roles paying between 35-41k. Shifts are 4 on 4 off days 07:00-19:00 OR 4 on 4 off nights 19:00 - 07:00.

Responsibilities
  • Complete reactive repairs, planned maintenance and small works projects.
  • Plumbing and pipework maintenance
  • AHU & Fan coil units
  • Water systems
  • Hot and cold water feeds
  • Pumps and valves - plant room
  • Pressure systems
  • Radiators and heating
  • Drainage
  • Leak repair
  • L8 prevention, tamp temps and thermostatic mixer valves (TMV)
  • Plus other associated tasks
Requirements
  • To have Mechanical Engineering experience and qualifications
  • Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience some of which will have been in a similar role and have good customer skills.
  • It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a “Can do” customer attitude at all times.
  • Ability and desire to complete general fabric maintenance tasks
  • Able to pass a security clearance
  • Knowledge of Building services (water, heating, ventilation, plant room)
  • Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the contract manager.
  • Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective and efficient manner, adhering to relevant guidelines and bulletins.
