Responsibilities

  • Carry out the day-to-day maintenance of the Home, services, grounds, and gardens.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and smaller refurbishment projects.
  • Ensure available rooms are decorated and turned around within 3 days of vacancy.

South Moor Lodge Care Home

A little about South Moor Lodge Care Home: South Moor Lodge is located in the village of Walkeringham (5 miles west of Gainsborough). The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, extended to maintain character, with two acres of landscaped grounds. It provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands, and prioritise tasks
  • Ability to organise own time and workload
  • Ability to methodically complete checklists of work and maintenance checks
  • Self-motivated
Day to Day Responsibilities for Maintenance Person
  • You will join our Maintenance Team and carry out the day-to-day maintenance of the Home, services, grounds and gardens, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff.
  • This includes regular maintenance checks, day-to-day maintenance tasks, smaller refurbishment projects (e.g. bedrooms & living spaces) autonomously, and periodic involvement in more extensive refurbishment projects (e.g. ensuites, bathrooms, laundry rooms) with the Support Manager.
  • Ensure action plans from annual Bedroom & Communal maintenance audits are completed within 3 months and that room scores align with latest quarterly targets.
  • Ensure available rooms are decorated and turned around within 3 days of vacancy and that the exterior remains presentable and homely.
Essential Requirements for Maintenance Person
  • General maintenance knowledge/experience as per checklist (e.g. minor electrical, decorating, plumbing, joinery)
  • Hold a clean driving licence and access to a car
  • Live within 20 minutes of the Home
Preferred Requirements for Maintenance Person
  • Modest IT skills (email, print, scan, save files, basic Excel). Training can be provided.
  • Hold a Level 2 or above in Maintenance or Facilities Management
