Description

Silverstone Circuits is seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep of our world‑class facilities, including the prestigious Escapade. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our venue, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining our high standards of excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of technicians along with a varied array of suppliers and contractors who will take pride in our vision of design and presentation while displaying our high service standards – on and off track. Our created spaces seamlessly merge hospitality and motorsport together where this role will provide a fresh out of the box look and feel, at all times, through efficient, cost‑effective, and sustainable management process and plans.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning and Execution
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan, prioritising tasks to optimise efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
  • Oversee maintenance activities, including repairs, installations, and replacements, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and operations of Escapade.
  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Implement and maintain robust procedures, policies, and checklists.
  • Ensure staff schedules, holidays and other leave are co‑ordinated in line with business levels to achieve maximum staff and guest satisfaction.
Equipment and System Maintenance
  • Manage the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors when specialised expertise is required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Promote energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
Budget and Resource Management
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Source and negotiate with supplier to optimise costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance and costs.
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained on departmental procedures, safety practices & luxury customer service.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Liaise with other internal departments, such as housekeeping and front office, to address maintenance‑related issues.
  • Collaborate with the wider business on planning and project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of service.
Team Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate a team of technicians to deliver exceptional results.
  • Attend operational meetings, cascading information as required.
  • Being punctual, presentable, and upholding the professional image and culture of the Silverstone Team always.
  • Conscientiously completing all tasks to a high standard and within agreed time limits.
  • Supporting the Silverstone Team to delivery high‑standard customer experience and service.
Performance Responsibilities
  • Guest and Owner Reputation
  • Budget Controls. You will use your experience to generate and protect revenues, to implement procedures and controls to monitor costs and will be able to deliver a P&L which is on budget.
  • Detailed objectives will be set through the Personal Development Review (PDR) process.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Head of Maintenance/Chief Engineer within the hospitality industry or a similar setting, of a 4-star rated hotel.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience in managing various building systems and equipment including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance practices.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost management.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to maintenance operations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience in a lifestyle/distinctive brand is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant maintenance software.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
