Aptar is seeking a Maintenance Manager based in Leeds plant. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our manufacturing operations.

Primary Purpose Statement

As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead all maintenance, facilities, and equipment management activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations across the site. You will drive proactive maintenance strategies, develop team capability, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and long‑term asset reliability.

As a Maintenance Manager, You Will:

  • Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance for Injection Moulding Machines (IMM), assembly machinery, and all site equipment.
  • Ensure legal compliance and safe operation of all plant, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers to deliver effective maintenance, repairs, and project work.
  • Implement and maintain a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programme and ensure accurate maintenance documentation.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts procurement, and contractor relationships.
  • Support troubleshooting, validation, and programming for moulding and assembly machinery.
  • Maintain site compliance registers and oversee fire, security, and facility systems.

You are a hands‑on, solutions‑driven maintenance leader with strong technical expertise and a passion for developing people. You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and foster a positive team culture while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Education

  • Level 3 Engineering qualification (required).
  • ILM Level 3 Leadership qualification (preferred).
  • Project Management experience (preferred).

Required Skills

  • Experience in preventive and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and organisational skills.
  • Experience with injection moulding, tooling, and multi‑cavity moulds.
  • Knowledge of robotic applications (palletising, packing, pick & place, continuous motion assembly).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a high‑pressure environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with vision systems (e.g., Cognex Insight).
  • Understanding of EHS requirements and standards.
  • Experience using SAP, Q‑Pulse, and Microsoft tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
