Job description

Maintenance Fitter – Newark – Full Time – Permanent – Up to £39,000 per annum

The Role

As a Maintenance Fitter, you’ll be responsible for responding to breakdowns as required, helping to diagnose and repair issues, as well as:

  • Actively seek to reduce reactive maintenance where possible by analysing root causes and assisting with improvements to prevent reoccurrences.
  • To recognise and ensure necessary maintenance of all equipment involved in production and scheduled maintenance at designated intervals via the MaintMaster system.
  • Liaise with the internal functions to ensure successful introduction and implementation of new / purchased production equipment. Control the stock levels of the required maintenance spares and parts by working with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Product and process development through improvement of H&S, quality and efficiencies of the product, floor layout, process flow, methods, tooling, logistics and operational disciplines by working productively with both the maintenance and production teams.
  • Work as part of the maintenance team to ensure plant is running as up to date and efficient as possible, innovating and improving around our entire site.
  • To carry out such other duties as reasonably directed by the Factory / Maintenance Manager.
  • Must have flexibility to work a weekly rotating 3 shift pattern.

The ideal Maintenance Fitter will be practical and understand health & safety, as well as:

  • At least 1 years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • A City & Guilds engineering qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates a solid one team approach and “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise own work and work of others to meet deadlines and achieve targets in a fast‑paced dynamic environment.
  • Proactive, positive, and flexible to the needs of the business and the role.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Will be organised and calm under pressure.
