Job description
Overview

Maintenance Engineer – London manufacturing sector at a new factory. Hands-on role fixing machinery; experience is required. 12-hour day and night shifts in a 12-hour pattern.

Details

Location: North London (Enfield area)

Contract: Very long-term contract with potential to move to a permanent role.

Working hours: 12-hour days and nights. Overtime available; current engineers can work 60-70 hours if they wish. Fully automated site with ongoing investment and new kit being installed.

Industry: World-class manufacturer with impeccable reputation, high standards, friendly culture and strong teamwork. Large site investments in technology and training.

Rate: £40-42 per hour umbrella; lots of overtime available.

Travel: Commutable from Enfield, Epping, Romford, Brentwood, Hoddesdon, Brimsdown, Edmonton, Walthamstow, Stevenage, Borehamwood, Elstree, Barnet, Southgate, Tottenham, Waltham Abbey, Waltham Cross and other parts of London, Hertfordshire and Essex.

Responsibilities
  • Reactive and planned maintenance of production machinery.
  • Electrical or mechanical fault finding and repair, depending on skill set.
  • Minimise equipment downtime.
  • Support on breakdowns.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • A formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalent with practical experience.
  • Good working knowledge of automated systems/production machinery.
  • From a manufacturing background.
  • Mechanical and electrical proven experience.
