Position

Maintenance Engineer (Automation/PLC) – Cheltenham, Gloucestershire – Salary 45,000‑55,000 plus bonus, company vehicle, training, overtime.

Overview

A senior Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) responsible for electrical installation, machinery commissioning, post‑purchase servicing, and breakdown support both in‑house and on customers’ sites. Work local 30 % and travel the UK, Ireland and North America 70 %.

Responsibilities
  • Install control panels and lead onsite build of machines and automation systems.
  • Commission machinery, electrical installation, and post‑purchase servicing.
  • Provide breakdown support and service of bespoke automated machinery.
  • Report to the Director on commissioning and services.
The Person
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings – electrical a must, mechanical a plus.
  • Experience in automation machinery, industrial control systems, PLC programming.
  • Experience working with pneumatic systems and valves.
  • Full UK driving licence (≤ 3 penalty points).
  • UK/EU passport holder – entry to the USA via ESTA essential.
  • Commutable to Cheltenham.
