Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

A well-established manufacturing company based in Bradford is currently looking to recruit an experienced Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer to support its engineering function within a medium-sized manufacturing plant.

The Role:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of production machinery through both reactive and preventative maintenance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment
  • Responding to breakdowns and completing effective mechanical repairs
  • Fault finding on mechanical systems including bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and pneumatics
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Working closely with production to minimise downtime
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
The Ideal Candidate:

You will be a mechanically biased engineer with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Ideally, you will have:

  • Strong mechanical maintenance experience
  • Background in reactive and preventative maintenance
  • Experience working within a manufacturing plant environment
  • Basic electrical knowledge (advantageous but not essential)
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach and strong problem‑solving skills
