Overview

Due to an internal transfer we're currently looking for a Maintenance Carpenter to work within a hospital environment in Swindon. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Carpenter to join our facilities team within a busy hospital in Swindon. This is a crucial role ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across the site. You will be responsible for planned preventive maintenance, reactive repairs, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards. You will be working within a small team of engineers, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on general building, specifically carpentry across communal areas and wards.
  • Repair and replace items as required.
  • Assist with fire door maintenance checks across the hospital.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and safety guidelines.
  • Work with the estates and facilities team to support smooth operational delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in carpentry.
  • Experience working within hospitals or a commercial environment.
