Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a maintenance assistant to join our team. You will be ensuring the building fabrics, fixtures and fittings in all areas of the casino are maintained to a high standard and in safe, working order.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical skills (small plumbing, drainage, toilet maintenance and repair).
• Joinery skills (light carpentry).
• Painting and decorating.
• Completing regular repairs and general maintenance works.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Outlook and light Excel use).
• Keeping repair and maintenance records up to date for the casino.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and health and safety regulations.
• Reporting building/machinery faults to management for escalation to the nominated contractor.
• Reporting health and safety outages and fixing them with a view to preventing future occurrences.
• Supporting the hospitality department with the deliveries and cleaning of catering equipment.
• Liaising with third‑party, nominated contractors when work cannot be self‑delivered.
• Working both independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively and meeting deadlines.
• Flexible with a positive attitude towards change and willing to work a variety of shifts including night shifts and weekends.

Desired Skills

• IOSH Working Safely certification.
• Legionella awareness.
• IPAF/PASMA qualification.
• Electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391, NVQ Level 3 or 18th Edition).
• First aid.
• Familiarity with RAMS and relevance to site works where applicable.
