A catering establishment in Portree is looking for a cafe team member to deliver exceptional customer service and assist in food preparation and presentation. Responsibilities include daily cash handling, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food hygiene standards. The ideal candidate will be organized, customer-focused, and able to work weekends and Bank Holidays. Training will be provided for necessary skills, including food prep and till operations.
As a member of the cafe team, you will provide our trademark warm Highland Welcome to our customers in a busy catering hub. Assist with the food prep, presentation, serving and selling of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks and hot meals.
You will pride yourself on the highest standards of customer care. Ideally with a current basic food hygiene certificate, you will ensure the cafe premises are always scrupulously clean and all our delicious freshly prepared food is beautifully presented. Food preparation, cash-handling and touchscreen till operations skills are required for which training will be provided.
You will be responsible for daily cash handling, opening up and closing down procedures at the beginning and end of each trading day, recording stock, monitoring temperatures of fridge freezers, and other tasks as requested by the Cafe Manager.
This role involves regular weekend and Bank Holiday working.
Occasionally situations may arise that require the post holder to perform other duties or tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Estate.
