Job description

To ensure the efficient setup, operation, and maintenance of food production machinery in accordance with company standards, safety regulations, and production schedules. The Machine Setter plays a key role in minimising downtime and ensuring consistent product quality.

Responsibilities
  • Machine Setup & Calibration:
    • Set up and adjust food processing and packaging machinery according to product specifications and production plans.
    • Calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Operational Support:
    • Monitor machine performance during production runs.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues to prevent production delays.
    • Collaborate with maintenance teams for more complex repairs.
  • Quality & Compliance:
    • Conduct routine checks to ensure products meet quality and hygiene standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of machine settings, adjustments, and production output.
    • Adhere to HACCP, GMP, and other food safety protocols.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to improve machine efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on equipment and safety procedures.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, assertiveness, the ability to work well within a team and follow processes, a positive, inclusive attitude and great attention to detail.

Hourly rate of £12.65 ph rising to £14.61 once fully trained. Plus Shift Allowance. Shift Pattern 4 On 4 Off - 12hrs, Immediate start; opportunities for progression; 20 days holiday per year, staff shop, onsite free parking, 2 Sisters high-street discount platform.
