Job description

We have an opportunity at our prestigious Meadowhall Gallery to join the team as a Luxury Sales Consultant. This vacancy is 3 days per week (22.5 hours with Wednesdays as a must to cover delivery day), but for the right candidate, this could even be a full‑time position. We’re looking for a proactive sales‑focused individual, who is passionate about delivering great customer service and achieving sales targets. You’ll work on supporting our current loyal client base, as well as proactively building and nurturing new customer relationships for the gallery and the business by selling our exceptional art, by artists including Billy Connolly, Bob Dylan, Ronnie Wood, and Johnny Depp to name a few. There are new releases and gallery events and exhibitions throughout the year to help you strengthen and make the most of these client relationships. If you’re looking for the opportunity to be well rewarded and build long lasting relationships, you might just be who we’re looking for.

Who We’re Looking For
  • You have a proven track record of driving and achieving sales targets.
  • You are highly motivated to achieve against gallery targets.
  • You’re confident in your ability to effectively communicate in person and by phone.
  • You are confident, highly presentable, and with an understanding of exceptional customer service.
  • You have previous 1-2-1 sales experience and can adapt to different client needs.
  • You’re confident to support our current loyal client base, as well as proactively building and nurturing new customer relationships for the gallery in person and on the phone.
  • As personality is central to making a success of this role, we would like enthusiastic, engaging individuals who enjoy interaction with clients.
  • We don’t need you to have a prior knowledge of the art world, as we offer full training to help you be as knowledgeable as possible.
  • If you have driving licence, this is desirable (for possible home consultation visits with clients).
  • This role also entails moderate physical duties on a daily basis. We need you to be able to handle such tasks whilst working.
What We Can Offer You
  • A salary of £15,000 (based on 3 days - £25k Full Time Equivalent) plus excellent uncapped commission and sales bonus structure
  • Staff discounts and a benefits platform for other retailers
  • Access to our Financial and Mental Wellbeing Platform
  • Enrolment into our Pension scheme
  • 17 days initial holiday allowance (pro rata), plus 1 additional day for each year of service (to a maximum of 20 days per annum)
Who We Are

Since opening our first gallery over 25 years ago, Castle Fine Art has become the UK’s market leading publisher and retailer of original and limited-edition art. As the industry's leading art retailer, with a network of galleries across the UK, we remain as committed as ever to our motto, ‘Your world, our art’.

We are still owner‑managed and although we are a national retailer, we work hard to be informal and keep ‘family‑feel’ to business. We work with some of the biggest names in art but know we could not be the successful business we have become without the passion, commitment and skill of our team. That is why we invest heavily in our people, offer great opportunities for further training and development as well as a valuable benefits package.
