About the Role:

Protocol Education is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) / Teaching Assistant (TA) / SEND Support Worker / Youth Worker to join a specialist SEND provision in Basildon.

The school supports students with a wide range of needs, including:

  • Autism (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD)
  • Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to help students progress academically and emotionally
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and personal development
  • Using creative and engaging approaches to support individual learning styles
  • Assisting with behaviour management using positive and supportive strategies
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for each student
What We’re Looking For:
  • A patient, caring, and resilient individual
  • A genuine passion for supporting SEND students
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Previous school experience is preferred but not required — we also welcome applicants with backgrounds in social care, youth work, or those looking to begin a career in education
Role Details:
  • Full-time, long-term position
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Competitive salary with training and development opportunities included

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
