Job description

As Logistics Team Leader you will lead a team to deliver the inbound or outbound processes safely and accurately in line with the logistics plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct team members to follow standard operating procedures and use allocated resources to deliver outputs as determined by the Logistics plans
  • Supervise team activities to ensure safety, for self and others, always
  • Provide leadership and direction to the logistics teams to ensure that people are engaged, focused and delivering their potential
  • Implement and embed continuous improvements by ensuring team members understand and use new/improved process, practices and systems to enhance team performance
  • Ensure that all team members have the skills and understanding necessary to successfully complete their role and receive on the job training and have training plans in place to support their ongoing development
  • Produce all necessary documentation and information to ensure that a clear audit trail of activity is available for review and analysis
  • Participate as a member of a cross functional operations team to identify and build collaborative working relationships which deliver solutions to immediate issues and identify ways in which performance across the operational team can be improved
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Experience of logistics and distribution, ideally gained as an operative or people manager
  • Demonstratable knowledge of the distribution/warehouse business
  • Experienced in implementing safety policies and procedures
  • Experience leading and managing a diverse team
  • Experience setting a goal / target and supporting others with achieving the goal
