  • Monitor daily operations and react quickly to delays, route changes, or customer issues.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with DVSA and O-Licence undertakings.
  • Monitor and manage drivers’ working hours in line with EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • Oversee regular vehicle checks, defect reporting, and maintenance scheduling (including MOTs).
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate compliance records (tachograph data, CPC training, inspections).
  • Support preparations for audits and inspections in collaboration with the Transport Manager.

Driver & Vehicle Management

  • Allocate and brief drivers daily, ensuring clarity on delivery details and compliance expectations.
  • Act as the first point of contact for drivers regarding issues or operational changes.
  • Maintain driver files including licences, training records, and qualifications.
  • Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy, insured, and fully compliant with tax and legal obligations.

Administration & Reporting

  • Generate regular reports on transport performance, including:
  • Fuel usage
  • Compliance metrics
  • Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready transport documentation.
  • Support investigations following incidents, accidents, or compliance breaches.
