Overview

This is a fixed‑term (8 months) full‑time (40 hours per week) post based in the Hospital. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a tiered, consultant‑led Oral Medicine service and to deliver Oral Surgery sessions at the Edinburgh Dental Institute (EDI) with 10 practice appointments (PAs). The start date is flexible.

Responsibilities
  • Work 10 PAs with days of work to be agreed with the Clinical Director.
  • Report to Lorraine Canning, Clinical Services Manager, and Professional Leads William Harrison and Laura Bryce.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery, and the wider Dental Institute.
Requirements
  • Registered dentist with a Licence to Practice with the General Dental Council (GDC).
  • Completion of four years’ full‑time postgraduate training (or equivalent gained on a less than full‑time basis) with adequate experience in the relevant specialty.
  • Or equivalent training, experience or competencies achieved in the UK or overseas.
  • At least three years full‑time postgraduate training with demonstrable experience supporting patients in Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery.
