Overview

Locum Planning Lawyer – Local Authority – South West – £55 per hour via Umbrella

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Planning Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the South West on a full-time or part-time, 6-month initial basis.

Responsibilities

• Providing advice on a wide range of Planning and Highways matters
• Drafting and negotiating Section 106 agreements
• Advising and representing clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in planning matters and legal practice areas relevant to the post
• Attending Planning Committee meetings once per month
• Undertaking research and providing advice to the Council in the areas of planning law specifically and Local Government Law generally

Requirements / Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with recent Local Authority experience
• Ability to handle a mixed general caseload with a particular focus on Section 106 agreements

Remuneration and Working Arrangements

An hourly rate of £55 per hour via Umbrella is offered for this position. The role offers the opportunity for remote working, with in-person committee attendance once every 4 weeks mandatory.
