Overview

Junior Commercial Contracts Lawyer - Interim (Maternity Cover)

Panoramic Associates are supporting a public sector client who are seeking an experienced Junior Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their team on an interim basis. This is a maternity cover post, initially for a minimum of 3 months with the potential to extend up to 12 months.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting and reviewing a high volume of complex, non-template commercial contracts
  • Preparing and advising on grant agreements, deeds of variation, and demand letters for breaches
  • Providing procurement support and contract management reporting
  • Supporting large-scale projects from inception to completion
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and trust throughout project delivery
Essential skills
  • Strong experience handling commercial contracts (local government sector experience highly desirable)
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes and requirements
  • Confident communicator with excellent reporting skills
  • Commercially astute, able to work on non-standard and complex agreements
Desirable skills
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital projects
  • Knowledge of local government governance and procedures
Key details
  • Rate: Up to 45 per hour
  • Location: Remote, with occasional in-person meetings if preferred (not mandatory)
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Contract length: 3 months minimum, with scope to extend to 12 months
