A local authority in the South West is seeking a Locum Legal Assistant to provide legal support within the Social Care & Education teams. This full-time position is hybrid, spanning an initial 6-month contract with potential for extension. Overview

Locum Legal Assistant (Education)South West – Hybrid Working – 6 Months + - £25-£30 Umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team is recruiting for a Legal Assistant to join a reputable local authority in the South West on an interim basis, sitting within the busy Social Care & Education teams. This is a full time, hybrid working position for an initial term of 6 months, subject to potential extension thereafter. It will involve providing legal assistance to and supporting the Education Lawyers on a variety of matters. Experience gained within a local authority is required for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Providing essential administrative and organisational support within the Legal department
  • Ensuring that all files are dealt with efficiently and filed on time
  • Creating and managing effective case files
  • Created spreadsheets and collaborative documents to ensure all cases were kept up to date and were progressing
  • Filing documents, preparing bundles and maintaining effective time recording whilst dealing with cases
  • Redacting documents for disclosure to the police and the Court/all parties
Details

Candidates will be expected to attend the office on a weekly or fortnightly basis. An hourly umbrella rate of £25-£30 depending on experience is offered for this position.
