A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Consultant in Endocrinology & Diabetes for a 12-month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will oversee Endocrinology Clinics and participate in acute and general medicine responsibilities. Essential qualifications include full registration with the GMC and a Certificate of Completion of Training. The role offers opportunities for leadership as well as career development. This a 12 month fixed term 0.9 WTE consultant post, based in the within the Endocrinology & Diabetes department at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The post holder will be responsible for running Endocrinology Clinics at St Mary’s Hospitals as well as undertaking Acute and General Medicine ward rounds in the division of medicine.
The post holder will be appointed to transform the delivery of patient care by working with the wider Endocrinology team. As such, the post holder will be expected to have an interest in General Medicine and Endocrinology as well as specialist knowledge and prior expertise in diagnosis and management of Thyroid eye, antenatal and endocrinology disease.
The successful candidate will divide his / her time between clinical work, inpatient and outpatients. There are fixed weekly commitments which include clinics, MDTs and nurse supervision.
Post holder will be expected to see 10 patients per clinic (2 new, 8 follow-up) in the job planned outpatient clinics. For Acute inpatient DCC, post holder will be expected to review 15 inpatients during this activity.
This job plan also includes 1PA for Acute medicine. Which includes post take ward rounds and on calls commitments.
