Job description

Applications are invited for a fixed term full time Trust Junior Doctor within Paediatrics, this is a 6 month fixed term post.

This post provides an ideal opportunity for a suitably qualified individual looking to continue to develop skills in general paediatrics and neonatology. The post will be based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital with some duties at Wycombe Hospital. This post will support the SHO/ ST1-3 rota.

Clinical Work: Neonatal
  • Day to day care of the inpatients on NICU, the postnatal ward
  • Attendance at high risk deliveries/neonatal resuscitations
  • Antenatal counselling for parents admitted in preterm labour
  • Entering data & generating discharge summaries on the BadgerNet database system
  • Attendance at neonatal follow-up clinics i.e. jaundice clinic
General Paediatrics
  • Day to day care of the inpatients of ward 3
  • Reviewing and seeing acute referrals at both the Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville sites
  • Outpatient clinic
  • Giving advice or opinions to other health professionals
Non-clinical Work
  • Ensuring the timely dictation/completion of clinic letters and discharges from the ward
