Live-in Housekeeper / Nanny Job Description

• Role:Live-in Housekeeper / Nanny - housekeeping the priority then weekend nanny
• Salary: £45K-£70,000 DOE & whether it's a domestic couple or sole person
• Position: Permanent – Live-in - Hampshire
• Working Week: Saturday – Wednesday. Hours: 07:00 – 15:30 OR 11:00 – 19:30 (flexibility required)
• Days Off: Thursday & Friday (negotiable)
• Flexibility: Required – if the family are away for the weekend you will work Monday – Friday instead
• Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and longevity
• Travel: Not essential but occasional flexibility may be requested
• Start Date: Happy to wait a notice period for the right candidate
• Location: Stunning countryside property on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border, within easy reach of London
• Accommodation: Beautifully renovated and fully furnished annexe, adjacent to but separate from the main house. The accommodation has its own entrance, driveway, kitchen and living space, offering a real sense of privacy and independence. No bills payable.

Marcilly Recruitment’s client is looking for a kind, caring and highly organised live-in Housekeeper / Nanny with a flexible and proactive approach. This is a busy but welcoming family household set in a stunning countryside estate on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border, offering a peaceful and picturesque setting within easy access of London.

The successful live‑in Housekeeper / Nanny must have proven experience working in a HNW or fully staffed home and a strong understanding of the dynamics of working closely with parents. This is a role that requires teamwork, discretion and a calm, professional approach to help ensure the household runs smoothly and the children’s routines are supported with warmth and care. The children do have a full‑time nanny in the week, so you will work closely with them.

During the week, the role will be predominantly focussed on housekeeping and household organisation, but then helping with bed and bath time, with weekend hours more focussed on childcare and family support.

Live-in Housekeeper / Nanny Key Responsibilities:

• All housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing, wardrobe management and household organisation
• Helping the children with morning and evening routines, including breakfast, after‑school support, mealtimes, bath and bedtime
• Being available to take sole charge of the children when required
• Working with the parents to ensure smooth‑running routines and household harmony
• Flexibility to adjust hours and duties depending on the family’s schedule (especially during weekends, school holidays or if the family are away)

The Successful Live-in Housekeeper / Nanny Candidate Will:

• Be experienced in a HNW / UHNW household, understanding discretion and professional boundaries, but also someone who can be a part of the family.
• Have a kind, caring and calm personality with a willingness to “muck in”
• Be proactive, highly organised, and able to remain one step ahead
• Be confident working independently as well as alongside parents and other staff
• Be a confident driver, happy to work weekends, and committed to building a long‑term relationship with the family
