Qualifications

Job description
Job Summary

The role will involve dealing with a caseload of DA credit hire & injury files under the supervision of the Team Leader. Instructions are received at the point of litigation, so full knowledge of handling RTA claims through to conclusion via a court hearing is necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyse files throughout the life of the case, in accordance with the client guidelines
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, always keeping the client at the heart of every decision
  • Formulate an initial strategy for approval by the Team Leader
  • Conduct legal research
  • Undertake telephone negotiations with third‑party solicitors
  • Liaise with the insured and insurers where necessary
  • Ensure 'actions' are carried out according to the task list within the Case Management System
  • Accurately complete management information processes (MI)
  • Process bills
  • Ensure all files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations
  • Adhere to the Keoghs Values

Court Process
  • Draft defences
  • Complete direction questionnaires
  • Manage disclosure and exchange of evidence
  • Complete pre‑trial checklists
  • Instruct counsel
  • Draft CPR Part 18 questions
  • Draft CPR Part 35 questions
  • Draft counter schedules
Working Hours

35 hours per week – 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 1‑hour lunch break.

Essential Qualifications
  • Experience of litigation and handling Credit Hire files, with evidence of managing one’s own case load
  • Education – at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent; a degree/LPC is preferable
  • Use own initiative
