Overview

Purpose of Position
To be responsible for the effective management of all linen deliveries in and out of the hotel. This includes maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the linen storage areas. The Linen Porter plays a key role in supporting the delivery of exceptional guest experiences by ensuring all areas are presented to the highest possible standard. This job description is not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake additional responsibilities in line with the operational needs of the business.

Duties

• Sort, count and manage linen stock to maintain accurate records
• Check and receive all deliveries and collections, reporting any discrepancies immediately
• Stock and organise linen cupboards and housekeeping trolleys
• Assist the housekeeping team with removal of linen from departure rooms
• Make sure all linen is collected and bagged at the end of shift
• Assist with spot cleaning of carpets and upholstery when required
• Support housekeeping team in moving beds, cots and furniture as required
• Report all maintenance issues promptly to the supervisor on shift
• Assist with scheduled deep cleaning programmes
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to
• Promote and uphold Macdonald Hotels & Resorts values, contributing to an environment of excellence and professionalism

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties required, including lifting moderate weights and standing for extended periods
