Job Overview

12 Month Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint an officer into the position of Electrical Manager who will be responsible for the delivery and management of Lift Servicing, Lift Breakdowns, Lift Renewal, and the replacement of Major Lift Components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of the monthly Lift Service programme, lift breakdowns, and trappings.
  • Ensure contractors adhere to lift breakdown and trappings times as per the contract.
  • Deliver lift modernisation and refurbishment programmes, applying project and contract management skills from development to final handover.
  • Monitor contractor KPI performance and ensure all lift works are delivered to a high standard.
  • Lead and conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and suitable communication.
  • Monitor budgets, forecast future spend, and control overspends for lift repairs and refurbishment programmes.
  • Manage staff allocation, performance, and development.
  • Write reports, including minutes and summaries.
  • Work within a team, engage productively with colleagues, and build positive relationships with contractors and consultants to deliver high-quality lift service across the borough.
Qualifications Required
  • In‑depth knowledge of the Lift Industry, relevant regulations, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Practical experience delivering lift maintenance programmes, day‑to‑day lift repairs, and sometimes lift inspections.
  • Relevant NVQ3 Lift & Escalator professional qualifications (EOR/202 Basic Lift Safety, EOR/205N Basic Service Lift Safety).
  • Relevant project and/or contract management qualification.
Additional Knowledge & Competencies
  • Understanding of the impact of new regulations such as the Building Safety Act on lift service delivery.
  • Experience or knowledge in procuring lift contracts is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, for addressing diverse stakeholders.
  • Good spreadsheet skills for programme delivery, budgeting, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace is desirable but not essential.
Working Arrangements

Work will be based in the office; hybrid working may be locally agreed by your line manager.
