Looking ahead, the role will also contribute to the development of Open Access book models. You'll lead a team of six marketers across two global offices, working closely with Library Sales colleagues in EMEA and the Americas. Together, you'll drive sales and usage, build market expertise, and adapt to evolving sales models and regional trends. Flexibility and responsiveness to change are essential, as the academic publishing landscape continues to transform rapidly. This is a unique opportunity to guide a high‑impact team through one of the most disruptive and exciting phases in academic publishing, as technology and policy reshape the library market toward a predominantly online, Open Access future. The role involves direct engagement with university librarians—both in person and online—and carries measurable business impact, with responsibility for regular reporting and performance benchmarking.
A successful candidate will have significant marketing experience, including managing direct reports, preferably with staff based in other offices. Experience working closely with sales teams, or direct sales experience, is also beneficial. Strong networking and relationship‑building skills are key, as developing connections across Sales teams will greatly support effectiveness. High standard of written English is required, and occasional travel will be necessary.
