Overview

The Liaison Psychiatry Service based at Leighton Hospital has a Band 6 Liaison Psychiatry Practitioner vacancy. We are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals with an excellent track record in engaging people in distress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality risk assessment and a compassionate approach to patients and families/carers presenting to A&E or admitted to hospital.
  • Respond promptly to assessments and assist treatment delivery within ED 4‑hour targets and NHS England response times.
  • Support education and training of acute care staff around mental health issues, Deprivation of Liberty safeguards, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act.
  • Enhance the Liaison Psychiatry Service as part of the Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Services.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working with patients with complex mental health difficulties.
  • Background in mental health nursing, social work, learning disability or occupational therapy.
  • Robust supervision and support for professional development.
